This tape features raw footage for the documentary “None of the Above,” an in-depth ethnographic look at non voters in the U.S. In this tape, the videomakers make their way through United Center during the 1996 Democratic National Convention.
Raw tape for The 90’s election specials. This tape covers the 1992 Illinois Senatorial primary between incumbent Alan Dixon, Carol Moseley Braun, and Al Hofeld. A “meet the candidate and get-out-the-vote rally” for Carol Moseley Braun featuring Gloria Steinem. Braun eventually became the first (and only) black woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate. There is no audio for the second segment of the tape.
Raw tape for The 90’s election specials. Bill and Hillary Clinton take a quick tour of The Bagel, a Jewish deli and restaurant on Devon Avenue in Chicago. They shake hands and pose for a photo-op with an oversized bagel. Patrons and workers at the restaurant are asked their thoughts of Bill Clinton and Paul Tsongas.
Raw footage for The 90’s election specials. Niki Tsongas, wife of Senator Paul Tsongas, on “The Kathy and Judy Show” on WGN radio talking about her husband’s campaign. Kathy and Judy ask typical campaign issue questions (“Why should we vote for your husband?”).
Raw tape for the 90’s election specials. This tape covers the filming of a Dick Simpson for Congress commercial. Simpson was running against Dan Rostenkowski in the 5th congressional district. The commercial involves a full studio audience of cheering supporters and some live music.
Footage for The 90’s Election Specials. In this tape, videomaker Andrew Jones continues to cover South Side politics, visiting the Third Baptist Church, going to a Carol Moseley Braun event at Operation PUSH, and attempting to visit the campaign headquarters of Mel Reynolds.
Raw footage for the television series Watch It! At Chicago Fish House, a fish processing plant and fresh fish supplier/market in Chicago. Fish, from small salmon to massive tuna are gutted, cleaned, boned, filleted, butchered, and ground by workers on an assembly line. The work is performed by hand (except for the grinding).
