A virtual screening and discussion with artist and filmmaker Richard Lowenberg on his ongoing series of creative/media works, “Info/Eco: The Nature of Information” moderated by Nicolas Rueda-Sabater.
On Thursday, March 17th, at 6 pm Central Time, Media Burn Archive will host artist and activist Richard Lowenberg for a virtual screening and discussion on his ongoing series of creative/media works, “Info/Eco: The Nature of Information.” Nicholas Rueda-Sabater of the University of Chicago will moderate.
“Info/Eco: The Nature of Information” is the overarching title for a lifelong journey of creative investigations, understandings and artful realizations, presenting and collaboratively setting examples for ‘an ecology of the information environment’. A large body of artworks, writings, documentation and related materials have resulted from four primary arts/sciences/society initiatives, plus related eco-cultural works. “Info/Eco: The Nature of Information” is now being prepared for exhibition + book publication.
This interview and screening will highlight some of Richard’s video works from 1970 through the present, as a primary medium utilized in his creative exploration of Information Ecology.
Richard Lowenberg is an artist, planner/designer and eco-cultural activist, he has dedicated his creative life to investigations, understandings and artful realization of works presenting and collaboratively setting examples for ‘an ecology of the information environment’, and resulting opportunities for development of a culturally and ecologically rooted society.
