Peoples Wall’ is a 22-minute documentary about the mural ‘Our History is No Mystery,’ which was created in 1976. It was on the wall of John Adams Community College at Masonic and Hayes in San Francisco, CA. After continuing defacement–some of which was documented in the film–the mural was redesigned and repainted.
By 1972, rugby football as an organized sport for women, was played at three universities in the U.S., including the University of Illinois. In 1977 the Lake Shore Ale-wives became the second women’s rugby team in Chicago. This video contains Interviews with the players, footage from practice sessions and scenes of their first home game. This video documents Chicago’s first 6.2 mile race for women. Organized and hosted by the Loop Center YWCA in April,1978, it was billed as one of the largest, if not the largest, sporting event for women to that date. Over 2000 entrants completed the race. The tape vividly captures the excitement of women of all ages, races and economic status, many of whom were motivated to run by the desire to do something ‘just for themselves.’ Loop YWCA organizers, Sharon Mier and Erma Tranter appear in the tape as does then mayor of Chicago, Michael Bilandic.

The New Klan: Heritage Of Hate is a 1978 PBS nation-wide documentary that has been newly restored for today’s audiences. No changes or edits were made, nothing has been added or removed since its first release.
Eleanor Bingham and Leslie Shatz, the filmmakers of The New Klan gained unprecedented access to the Klan’s ceremonies, leaders, and members, including the KKK’s involvement in the murders of three “freedom fighters” in Alabama. The film exposes Grand Dragon David Duke’s early campaigns to legitimize white supremacy and normalize the racism of the Klan’s “Heritage of Hate.”
The New Klan also features archival footage of Chicago’s Channel 7 live debate between Duke and the Rev. Jesse Jackson, which highlights Duke’s strange approach to twisting American history as a means to justify the Klan’s approach and beliefs of “separate but equal.”
This documentary is a must see for anyone concerned about the state of racism and white nationalism in the U.S. today. “There are many parallels between The New Klan and the growing license to express intolerance in the current political climate,” said Bingham. “It allows us to look at our past to inform our future.”
This tape features two distinct pieces: “Hypercube Projects” and “This Is Early Bird.” At the end of the video there are a series of loading screens and LANDSAT images of San Francisco Bay and the Seattle area. “Hypercube” is an instructional video that describes geometrical transformations–rotations, projections, and slicings–within two, three, and four-dimensional space. The catalog contains a full transcription of the narration. “This Is Early Bird” was produced for CBS as part of a documentary/educational show about Intelsat1, the world’s first commercial communications satellite. The show also includes basic educational introductions about how geosynchronous satellites function and enter their orbits.
