    I MARRIED A MUNCHKIN presents the life and times of Mary Ellen St. Aubin, a woman small in stature who lived large. She and her husband, Parnell St. Aubin–one of the original Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz–were in show business for much of their lives, until they retired to run the legendary Midget Club on Chicago’s South Side.

    Reality: Family, Community, The Truce

    This video presents a variety of interviews and musical performances on the subject of gangs and gang violence. The primary topic is the truce between Black and Latinx gangs in the Oakwood area of the neighborhood of Venice in Los Angeles, California in the summer of 1994.

    The people in the video include gang members, former gang members, and members of Los Angeles communities most affected by gangs. Speakers discuss the root causes of gangs, including disinvestment and lack of economic opportunity in Black and Latinx neighborhoods.

Features interviews with many of the artists, footage from the exhibition including interviews with patrons, as well as interviews with Morry Fred (Director of the Spertus Museum) and Raymon Price (Director of the DuSable Museum of African-American History).

    A documentary produced by Kartemquin Films made to accompany the Spertus Institute of Judaica’s 1994 exhibition in which six African-American artists and six Jewish-American artists collaborated on a group show. This is the most recent version of the documentary centering on the artists and their ideas about the exhibition’s theme, which centers on the relationships between black and Jewish people in America.
