  This is an informal meeting of the People for Community Recovery, an environmental activist organization that is based out of the Altgeld Gardens community in the far South-East Side of Chicago. Some of the topics discussed are segregation, racism, changing times, and taking advantage of the poor.

  Video from the documentary “Voices of Cabrini.” Shot between 1995-1999, it documented the Cabrini Green redevelopment project proposed and carried out by the city of Chicago. This video features footage from Cabrini activist Marion Stamps’ funeral. Congressman Bobby Rush speaks at the service. Towards the end of the video, there is an interview with a Cabrini resident who had lived in the area since the 1960s.

  Footage for the documentary “Voices of Cabrini.” Shot between 1995-1999, it documented the Cabrini Green redevelopment project proposed and carried out by the city of Chicago. In this video, Guana Stamps, daughter of recently deceased Cabrini activist Marion Stamps, talks about the importance of after school programs and teen advocacy and awareness for the Cabrini community.

  This tape features layoffs of three performances by activists and musicians Andres Jimenez, Jose de Molina, and Marta Rodriguez. Each segment lasts for about a minute, and was recorded at a Puerto Rican Nationalist event.
