  In front of the U.S. Steel South Works in South Chicago, Studs Terkel talks to Alice Peurala about the troubles steel mill workers are facing and the negative impact of Reagan’s presidency on working people. Terkel likens the current situation at the mill to the situation during the Great Depression. Peurala stresses solidarity for the workers and predicts disaster for the country if workers are further and further disadvantaged by Reagan’s policies.

Jones shoots near The Kohn School, the school attended by the Hardaway brothers (the boys who were accused of killing Sandifer) to find friends and acquaintances who can talk about them. Jones is unable to find an interview subject who can really comment. He later shoots in the tunnel where Sandifer was found dead.   This tape features raw footage for the documentary “None of the Above,” an in depth ethnographic look at non voters in the U.S. We watch as the videomakers spend time with non-voter Frank RePass and his family at their home in New Orleans.

  The video features raw footage for the television show “Chicago Slices.” Skip Blumberg visits M.K Brody’s Toy Store in the West Loop and the Palace Grill in West Town. There is also raw footage for a segment entitled “Kids Eggment” involving producer Tom Weinberg’s children, Anna and Jesse.

  0:00 Jones continues to shoot in the viaduct where Sandifer was killed. He runs in to a few people who are checking out the murder scene and gets some good commentary on the incident, gangs, and the boy’s life. One man also is able to explain some of the subtleties hidden in the gang symbols.

  Pilot for a show called “Camcorder Tonight.” This tape featured a test of having the people who submitted the videos be the hosts. For this test, Leonard Aronson and Anne Keegan show videos they shot in Cambodia and Vietnam, at times narrating over the video. The tapes provide an unfiltered look at the results of war in these two places. They visit a former school which had been a prison under the Pol Pot regime, guided by a woman who lost nearly every member of her extended family during that time; a thousand-year old temple in Vietnam which had been buried under the jungle until the late 19th century, and was in the process of being reclaimed by the jungle yet again; and a network of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War.
