An extended on-stage interview with Bill McCarter, the President and General Manager of WTTW, Chicago's public TV station, and a man described by Broadcasting magazine as "Public television's visionary architect." McCarter looks back on his life and career, including his early TV days in Philadelphia with Dick Clark and Ed McMahon. A highlight comes near the end of the discussion when McCar ter talks about the future of TV (including VOD, HD, and programming via the internet), and the many technical innovations made by WTTW.
