Raw footage from the 1981 documentary "Rostenkowski," a portrait of House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dan Rostenkowski, a powerful figure in Chicago (and national) politics. The tape begins at a local Chicago courthouse. Midway through, it cuts to the outside of a campaign rally for Dan Rostenkowski. Whole tape is mostly b-roll.

07:37Copy video clip URL Quick cut to shot of a slew of re-election signs at a campaign rally. The camera picks up various shots of the venue and the rally attendees. Many people are beginning to file in and take their seats. Eventually, it cuts to a shot of a parade float for Rostenkowski, adorned with red, white, and blue pastels and sparkles. A group of children are seen in front of the float, excitedly waiting for the evening’s festivities to begin. On the float, there is a large concoction that is holding a number of different pictures of Rostenkowski in Washington. Patriotic music is being blasted from loud speakers that are sitting a top of a large truck. The camera eventually focuses in on a picture of Rostenkowski and President Jimmy Carter shaking hands.
